Emily
Emily is the type of person who can relate to literally anyone. She thrives off of human connection, and that’s why she loves cosmetology so much. Cosmetology wasn't initially in Emily's plans, but her support system encouraged her to use her long-suppressed artsy personality and find a trade that made sense to her. Looking back, she never imagined she would have her own salon, or that she would be surrounded by all of these wonderful artists, clients, and stylists; but she stayed optimistic and never gave up. She created her own community, Roots Salon.
In the future, she would like Roots Salon to be less service-based and more of a safe space – a place you can come when you’re feeling low for a dose of good energy. She advises her stylists to always take things one day at a time and to stay present. Having a stress-free work environment and keeps the good vibes flowing. Emily loves to cut sassy bangs and give her clients her undivided attention. She believes its so important to leave the salon feeling recharged and ready for any task at hand.
Bree
Bree loves the aspect of changing someone’s day for the better. She is a blonde specialist who is also certified in hand-tied extensions. She loves having open conversations with each and every one of her clients, creating lifelong friendships in the process. Bree is always down to create transformational looks that empower women to be the best version of themselves and look good while doing it. When Bree is not behind the chair she loves spending time at the lake with her partner and sweet pup Dallas.
Andrea
Andrea is a outgoing and keeps her glass half full. She spreads joy wherever she goes and her strength is something you immediatly pick up on. You can find her enjoying crossword puzzles, hiking nature trails, and gardening. She spends much of her time with her husband, family, and fur baby.
Andrea is a seasoned stylist with over 6 years of experience. Once her husband finished serving our country he started his next chapter at Tennessee Tech University. They have found thier true roots in Cookeville and love the small town atmosphere. She is an exceptional stylist and person all around, we are so grateful to have her in the roots family.
Journie
A Tennessee native, Journie has ventured all over the Upper Cumberland. She is the true example of a hometown girl. Her personality makes you feel like you have known her forever. She is a great listener who helps people achieve thier goals as well as giving them the service they expect. The amount of focus she gives each client is above exceptional.
She loves all things Kevin Murphy and can help debug any hair challenges you have with product knowledge and expert advice. Journie is big on learning and believes that the key to success is continued education in her craft.
Stevie
Stevie’s always had a keen eye to fashion and trends. While her first love was being a makeup artist she quickly grew to love curls. She has a passion for teaching which lead to Stevie’s Curl Friend’s. Her favorite services to provide are natural toned colors and customized curl cuts due to the impact not only for the hair but for her clients. When Stevie is not behind the chair you can find her relaxing with friends and family.
Amber
Amber is not only a fantastic mother to her two son Ryder and Roczen but she an all-around amazing human that we are blessed to have at Roots Salon. After years of servicing others, she took a leap into investing into her herself and became a cosmetologist. Her creative passion and caring nature are the perfect fit for guest looking for a great hair experience and confidence that her experience brings to the chair. Amber has a true cutters eye and is a true professional with consultations that lead guest to that perfect look and feel they are aspiring for.
Morgan
Endless kindness and the biggest heart. Morgan is always ready to transform your hair wants and needs. When you’re in her chair you will not only find a professional but a friend. She lives in blonde heaven. When Morgan is not behind the chair you can catch her listening to music and spending time with her son.
Brittany
The social butterfly of Roots. She starts her day off with a coffee and a jam session. Her secret weapons are living in the now, seamless color, current trends, and education. She loves lifting someone’s spirits with a new look. When Brittany is not behind the chair she’s loving raising her son and going on road trips.
A.J.
AJ has hit ground running this year at Roots Salon. She walks in every morning happy for the opportunity to work hard and build lasting relationships. Outside the salon she loves retail therapy and spending time with her son Luca. Listening to her clients wants and needs makes her consultations exceptional, and the end result is leaving the salon feeling refreshed and assured.
Savannah
Savannah uses each experience to fulfill her clients. Personal growth as a stylist and as a person is very important to her. She is a natural when it comes to styling for all occasions and creates beautiful dimensional color. Savannah’s style is always a fan favorite at the salon, and we all envy her head-to-toe perfection. Outside the salon she loves being outside, having downtime at home, and spending time with her fiancé Jayce and her pup Nala.
Maddie
Maddie is a true colorist at heart, she thinks with logic and doesn’t move into any service without a solid game plan for her guest services and upkeep. Her passion for the hair industry radiates off each service she provides, and we love seeing her launch into a career that continues to shine a light on her natural talents behind the chair. Aside from hair, spending time with her family and friends, Starbucks runs, and always looking forward to fall weather.
